ASSE 1060 is the recognized industry standard for backflow preventer enclosures. For regulatory compliance with ASSE 1060 Class I specifications, an enclosure must maintain a minimum internal temperature of 40℉ at an external temperature of -30℉ with a minimum thermal resistance value (R-value) of eight (8).

Your run-of-the-mill padlock or conventional key or combination lock isn’t good enough for commercial or municipal grade enclosure applications. You need to be prepared with more than something you can get at a hardware store.
