Enclosure Assembly Tips | Safe-T-Cover Insulated Aluminum Enclosure

Written by Chris Ryckman | January 19, 2016

Construction contractors are some of the most resourceful professionals on the job site. So when it's time to build a Safe-T-Cover insulated enclosure, a contractor could probably do it without instructions.

But we know that speed and accuracy are everything. You need a process that’s fast, repeatable and dependable. That’s why we’ve designed our enclosures to go together smoothly every time.

Here’s what to know before you get started.

Tools Required

To build the enclosure on site, you’ll only need four tools:

  1. Drill (for the anchor bolts in the concrete pad)

  2. Screw gun

  3. Hammer

  4. Crescent wrench

What’s Included in the Hardware Kit?

Every enclosure ships with a full hardware kit packaged for efficiency. To help you stay organized, we separate fasteners by type into labeled, individual bags, then place them together in one sealed bag. That means no sorting or confusion, just a clear process that supports your crew from start to finish.

We even include a concrete bit with your hardware kit to save you a trip to the supply house or big box store. Fewer steps = faster installation.

About the Written Instructions

Each enclosure includes a clear set of written instructions. They’re specific to the enclosure style and include diagrams to help filter out guesswork. You can also download the instructions from your phone at the job site.

Follow them step by step, and the enclosure will come together easily the first time, saving both time and avoiding rework.

How Long Does Installation Take?

You can reasonably expect to spend an hour or less from start to finish.

We filmed two employees putting a Safe-T-Cover enclosure together. In less than two minutes, two people remove the cover from the box and put the panels in place.

Note that none of the mounting anchors or screws were installed during this video; we didn't want to mount an enclosure to our parking lot!

Need Support With Installation?

We know how important your time is on the job site. If you have any trouble with the installation, call us at 800-245-6333 and we’ll help you figure it out.
